“Information security managers in large organizations are battling on few fronts: beside the fact that the amount of threats is growing and the threats themselves are getting much more complex, there are more and more situations where an Organization is met with a Diverse array of threats – both familiar and un familiar. Reducing the amount of suppliers and integrating them will allow the simplifying of security management, and also to a higher level of information security”, said Ron Cohen, Technology manager – Israel Cyprus and Malta for Symantec.
Cohen spoke in Symantec’s Israeli branch partner’s convention in Eilat, that drew over 100 of the security firm’s business associates. It was lead by Gilly Netzer, regional manager for the company.
“We protect people and information, regardless of their organizational IT infrastructure both Physical and Virtual”, Cohen added. “The mission is the supply organizations with high availability and survivability, while raising operational flexibility”.
Cohen also described the changes Symantec made to its product roster. He elaborated that one division is operating in the User Experience arena, with technology ranging from end user work stations protection, Mobile device management and security solutions for the private sector. The 2nd product division, said Cohen, deals with information protection – “Data management, Data backup and restoration, Data availability, storage, storage management and information management, with integrated hardware solutions for each endeavor”.
“The third division supplies Data Centers with information security solutions, protection solutions for information found at organization’s portal and deals with Security and information security intelligence. At the end of his talk lecture, Cohen told the Audience about the changes His Company has made towards creating deeper integration between Symantec products, as well as possible integration with other firm’s products: “The manager of security needs to be on alert to any changes in the IT market and in the security field, so he’s better off working with bigger outfits who are capable of supplying quality information – what are the threats that we might need to face in the future, and also prospects of future attacks, and who are they targeting”.
